I have adjusted my rating upward since my last visit last year. Previously, you had to drive down a dusty dirt road for about a quarter mile to get to the entrance. The road has recently been paved. The entrance and interior roads are still gravel, but they are smooth and access is good for big rigs. Good power, water, and cable TV. I chose a site without sewer, but the sewer hookups at other sites looked to be in acceptable condition. The wireless internet worked well for me. Shade trees might interfere with satellite TV reception, although the cable TV has a good selection of stations. There is a nice duck pond and you can buy food to feed them or bring your own. The small swimming pool looked well cared for. Park is near the interstate, but I didn't hear the noise inside my rig with the air conditioner running. Choose a site away from the highway side of the park if noise is an issue with you. Overall the park seemed to be in better condition than last year. There were a handful of permanent rigs, but they were neat and tidy. Owners are friendly and helpful. The rate was very reasonable and reflected the KOA card discount.

This campground is next to the brand new service center. The camp is spotless and well cared for. Excellent hookups with good quality 50 amp power, water, and sewer hookups. Wireless internet was not available at my site but works well up at the service center lounge area. The lounge is open during normal business hours and also has a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. Food was reasonable and pretty good. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. Brand new coin operated washers and dryers are also available. If you plan on arriving after 6pm, call ahead because the gates close and you will need an access code to open them for after hours arrivals. Campsites are level and well spaced. Easy access with plenty of room to maneuver for big rigs. Sites near the river have trees to provide shade; other sites are in the open. Campground is surrounded by tree covered hills which provides a nice view. The $27 rate reflects a 10% Good Sam discount. Strong signal for both my Verizon cell phone and internet air card.

This place is the best. Level roomy sites, easy access for big rigs. Excellent cable TV with lots of stations. Wi-Fi was free and worked well for me, although other campers complained the signal was weak. Hookups were well placed and maintained. Nice looking pool and a game room for the kids. Streets and sites are gravel, but well maintained and smooth. Nice patio at each site. Price was reasonable and the staff was nice, but not overly friendly. In my opinion, this is the best campground in the area.

Nice campground with roomy level sites. Power and water hookups were excellent and well placed. Good location too right in the Denver Metro area. Very quiet at night; I slept with my windows open and didn't hear a peep. However, there are a couple of negatives. For a state park, the price is high. At first the rate seems quite reasonable; then you discover that in addition to the campground fee, you must pay $8.00 per day per vehicle, and your motorhome counts as a vehicle. If you tow a car behind a motorhome count on spending an extra $16 per day for passes. If anyone comes to visit you, they must also pay the $8. The other negative is that if you camp there during peak times, and leave the park for any reason, they might not let you re-enter. That's because when they feel the park is at capacity they close the gates and won't let anyone else enter until the crowds thin out. There is a sign warning of this as you leave the campground.
